WHAT'S A GOOD CHAPTER BOOK FOR YOUR NEWLY CONFIDENT READER TO START ON?

Trouble With Magic, by Asha Nehemiah

I love recommending this book to young readers who are growing increasingly confident and trying to read new, longer, more "big boy/girl" books. This is a great start to chapter books and with a plotline like this, young readers will be glued to the very last word!

Trouble with Magic is an oldie but is still so good! The book is about Veena and her Aunt Malu and Veenas's get rich quick scheme for her Aunt. Veena has a rich history of coming up with ideas that inevitably get Aunt Malu into trouble but she loves her niece and decides to hear her out. What she comes up with is a get rich quick scheme on steroids and people love it! Well, at first. What happens next? Will Aunt Malu and Veena go on the cruise of their dreams with all that money? Or will they have to shelve this dream for later?

Asha Nehemiah's books are a sure-fire hit with children because of her characters! One can't help but fall in love with Aunt Malu and her sincere, but silly attempts to get rich! Illustrated by Priyankar Gupta, young readers will have visual help as they race through the book! Also who can resist Aunt Malu's spectacle frames?

Get this one for loads of giggles and and a proper stepping stone to chapter books and exciting plots!
