HOW TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEGO OBSESSION AND NEVER HAVE A DEARTH OF IDEAS

365 Things to do with LEGO Bricks, written by Simon Hugo, published by DK Books

You asked for an honest review focussing on whether this book was worth the money and so here is my honest review.

This book is a dream for an avid LEGO builder. As the name suggests it has 365 ideas that can give rise to so many more things to build. There are chapters according to the category of things you want to build -- animals, home decor, puzzles and brain teasers, one-player games, storage, gifts etc etc. What I liked best were the pages after the contents which allows you to choose an activity based on how much time you have and how many bricks you have. This makes it so easy to wade. through the sea of ideas given in the book!

The biggest drawback of this book is that it doesn't give step by step instructions so it may be good for experienced LEGO builders but not so much for those just starting out. Sure, it mentions the special pieces used and a few crucial steps but doesn't go into the finer details. But for an avid LEGO builder, therein lies the fun because they can customise it any way they want!

Bright, clear pictures, fantastic ideas, and a book written with the trademark puns you will be familiar with if you have watched the movies -- this book is a great buy, and probably the only one you will need, if you are looking to feed your child's LEGO obsession and maybe try your own hand at building aLEGO-verse. Don't buy if you require step-by-step instructions to create something out of colourful bricks -- this book is definitely not for that. And you will be better off watching tutorials.
