HOW TO GIFT YOUR CHILD A BOOK THAT KEEPS ON GIVING

The Day The Crayons Quit
By Drew Deywalt and Oliver Jeffers

Let's just take a silent moment to marvel at these books and revel in their pure magic.

By now, it should be clear just how much I ♥️ these books! These books are constantly on my kids' bookshelf because they always keep coming back to it. There is no way they are bored of it!

So we already know the story by @drewdaywalt in both these books is sheer brilliance and the illustrations by @oliverjeffers pure magic but what I want to focus on is how many different ways you can use these books.

We have read these at bedtime reading. We have used these books to talk about colours and feelings. The kids have learnt to independently read with these books. We have dressed up as one (or many!) crayons for school Favourite Story Book Character days and even learnt a few lines for junior school elocution. And now we are working on theatre acting and confidence building with these monologues! PHEW!

I couldn't recommend these more and we now have the third book The Crayons Big Book of Feelings on our birthday wishlist. These books have creatively etched characters, humourous monologues, and a strange tendency to never get old and tedious no matter how many times you read it! If you don't have these books on your child's bookshelf just yet, don't wait!
