HOW TO GET YOUR KIDS INTRIGUED BY THE SMALLEST ORGANISMS ON EARTH

Tiny: The Invisible World Of Microbes by Nicola Davies, illustrated by Emily Sutton

What with us being smack in the middle of a pandemic and all, I felt we needed a book that would help explain to Gurgles (5) why we are constantly asking him to wash his hands when there is dirt he can't see! What is this virus we are so afraid of? While this book isn't about Covid-19, it addresses, and very well at that, what microbes and micro organisms are. Through beautiful illustrations by @emilysuttonartist this book brings to life that which we cannot see. The language by @nicolakidsbooks is simple, easy to understand, and relatable. While the book talks about the polio virus it also talks about good microbes and how they help us on a daily basis.

I read this book to Gurgles once and thought he would be done with it but I found him going back to it again and again to read, just look at the pictures and "understand microbes better." What I love about this book, more than anything else, is that it is the perfect segue into having bigger conversations about the pandemic, health and hygiene, fermentation (for home schooling), and so much more! A perfect intro to science book!
Thanks for lending this to us @sue9a
